MAGDA IN THE SANDPIT...

MY IMAGES ARE FOR SALE ONLY FROM ME, DIRECTLY, see below! This IS the link to a live and exclusive interview!!! I get asked so many questions every day, I thought it might be a good idea, so here goes: Best view it Large, in HD, AND it is 17 minutes!!!! Sit back and ENJOY. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u1aOqA4KdM For those who viewed it already, thank you for your feedback, lovely! Just to show you the sheer size of the sandpit where I took the images of the sand... So not just another sandscape. This was taken in a huge industrial sandpit, where they deposit sand from all over, like from the dredged harbour, winning sand from wherever they can. It is brought here, managed by huge bulldozers and special cranes. When sand is needed, like for 'refreshing' beaches or 'pumping' them up after an erosive winter or constructions of any kind, the massive trucks roll in on the metal sheets, and the sand gets transported away again. You aren't really allowed in, but those guys working there knew me by now and knew I never went too close to the 'walls', they might collapse you see, no, I always used my 28-200mm lens. I always found it a fascinating place, everchanging always full of interest. Hope your day is bright and thanx for visiting, Magda (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.co.uk IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) I find it fantastic what you all see in there, what a boost, imagination is so important in our lives! Tell me more? This wall of sand is sculpted by the wind and the elements. In it, I can see from huge impressive landscapes of mountain to jelly- and cake molds. So not just another sandscape. Les DUNES BLONDES de MA JEUNESSE...

Helmet or lyme grass (Ammophila arenaria), also known as dune grass, is a perennial plant belonging to the grass family (Poaceae). It is a pioneer plant that is important in the formation of dunes. The plant produces long rhizomes and where these rhizomes to come into contact with light, it creates a new shoot. To capture the sand seawall on the coast of Belgium, they planted helmet. The meter long roots of the plant search the depths of the freshwater line which is a few meters below the dune, but above the salt water in the sand. The plant protects itself against salt water through a symbiotic relationship with a special mould to its roots, which regulates water and salt supply to the plant. QUE SERA? WHAT WILL 2012 BRING? ... BEACH-ART...

What will 2012 bring? The eternal question... We were on the North Sea Coast in The North East of England, Northumberland. Lots of wind, wild seas, STUNNING light, I love walking on beaches and ALWAYS see something that strikes me as Nature's Art. Well this must have been made by a very intelligent and inquisitive sand-worm? I never move or change anything! This is again a comp in camera. I do realise that it is not to everybody's taste, it takes a certain 'eye' to appreciate these. The thing is, I do not take images for other people, not to please anyone, I take them because they touch me... Thanx for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*) I have a whole collection of these, may upload some in the future? DANCING SAND?

MY IMAGES ARE FOR SALE ONLY FROM ME, DIRECTLY, see below! From the series: 'SAND-Art'. Me, I see lots in there, different things on different days, a vivid imagination. Today it's definitely a row of dancing figures (conga)? Sometimes it's African women carrying water-urns on their heads, and singing. What do you see? This was taken on the beach just before the sun went down. TYRE TRACK...

Monstrous bulldozers were shifting sand in one of my favourite haunts, a sandpit, at the harbour, near the sea, a dangerous and forbidden place, but the guys knew me and that I was careful! The sun was going down, it was the perfect moment for such a mundane subject. An older Award winning image. Long Pre-Digital! Timeless... This is NOT a crop, the Hasselblad negative is square! I had interchangeable cassettes at the back for 120 rollfilm, 6x6cm, with 12 shots, one for colour and one for black and white. Known for its SUPER quality, it is well known that Hasselblad was used because you can really blow it up BIG and it doesn't loose quality. When sand is needed, like for 'refreshing' beaches or 'pumping' them up after an erosive winter or constructions of any kind, the massive trucks roll in. BEACH ART 1...

CORNWALL St Michael's Mount Never in my life have I seen such a diverse and colourful variety of seaweed. It was like being in Nature's very own open air Museum... Didn't know where to step or stand... in case I 'disturbed' some of it. This is on the beach in front of St Michael's Mount , almost at the causeway that joins the village with the Mount, at ebb tide... EPHEMERAL...

From the series: 'SAND-Art'. All things are transitory, existing only briefly… Some things last longer than others… a more melancholy souvenir, a 'reflective' image... I walk on that same beach where my forefathers walked before me, their prints long gone, softly effaced by the waves… I walked on this beach with my dog, my heel had left a print, no need to tell you where HE was… I saw it as I turned around and it struck me… ephemeral… The spoor have disappeared, my dog is adly no more, time has flown by… I eternalized the moment, now it is not completely gone and is a wonderful reminder of that happy time on the beach… love of photography! SANDWATER ART...

From the series: 'SAND-Art'. FUERTEVENTURA. On our first free afternoon, we decided to explore the local harbour of Morro Jable. The ferry to Lanzarote and the other islands, leaves from it, for the rest it moors a few yachts, some catamarans, a place for jet skis but best of all the local colourful fishing boats, we were too late to catch them with the people, it was siesta time! Wandering around, I discovered at the bottom of the rocks the tiniest 'beach', only a sandy corner. Climbing and jumping down, I saw all the patterns the small lapping sea waves had painted in the sand. I felt like I had struck gold, this was photography paradise. Needless to say I have MANY??? But I find this a SUPER that will go on the wall, please let me know what you think? Hope you like it? THE FACE... DESIGN BY NATURE...

Sand and water Art. From the series: 'SAND-Art'. I again concentrated on what had attracted me most in the first place, the patterns in the sand. One of the first I saw was this one, the waves of exotic black volcanic sand, the basalt (fine-grained due to rapid cooling of lava on the Earth's surface) artfully mixed with the soft, clean sand, that is sometimes golden, blown across from the Sahara. I saw a face… can you see it too? It is like a charcoal drawing on Conte-paper. magdaindigo.blogspot.com/2007/04/one-hour-in-life-of-phot... Sand Water Art...

#ABFAV_WATER_THEME On a beach in Cornwall. I see things forever, my imagination in overdrive... I could happily spend a whole afternoon, gazing at the patterns, made by the wind, drawing the water over the sand in ever-changing fantasies, hope you enjoy them too. I moved on to where the delta had formed, the water flowing in different directions, making more and more patterns, I saw the blue reflection of the sky and all the lovely tones that got created in both sand and water, all I had to be careful of now the whole time was not to have my own shadow in the picture, so I was turning around a lot, also to get the right angle, you know I love to make my comp in camera. RIPPLED SILVERSAND WAVES...

I grew up by the sea, the beach wa my play-ground, my learning-ground... it's in my blood, lol, seawater... I love it, now unfortunately, I live quite a way, however always grab the occasion, in ANY country I am in... I love the smell, the sound, the wind, the sun on my face, the coldness in Winter doesn't bother me, I like the 'battle' against the forces of Nature. A WINTER DUNE…

AB FAV for today… https://www.facebook.com/groups/1148438991917313/ You must know by now what my favourite photography is: tight, graphic, the familiar and mundane, shot in a more unconventional way? For those who like it... First there had been a lot of snow and then a lot of sun, melting the snow in strange patterns and shapes. The sand and dune-grasses now golden in the warmth of the sun, so contrasting with the cool of the snow. FROZEN BEACH…

AB FAV for today… https://www.facebook.com/groups/1148438991917313/ It is a rare thing to see that much snow and ice on the beach of Belgium. A lot of snow had fallen, it was bitingly cold, the beach absolutely deserted, except for 2 mad photographers lol. The sun was going fast, where the sea, frozen in the shallow parts, touched the snow it churned up the sand, hence the strange colours.
