A HAGOROMO CHRYSANTHEMUM

A HAGOROMO CHRYSANTHEMUM (please open) A Hagoromo Intermediate Incurve Chrysanthemum. Etymological Meaning of the Chrysanthemum Flower It’s surprisingly easy to remember the scientific name for this flower because it’s Chrysanthemum, the same as the common name for gardening varieties. However, the exhibition varieties used by florists and arrangers were divided into their own genus known as Dendranthema. The mums in your yard are likely part of the Chrysanthemum group, while the bouquet sent by the florist contains all or mostly Dendranthema flowers. Aside from small Latin differences, all Chrysanthemums share a common Greek source for their name. The words Chrysos, meaning gold, and Anthemon, meaning flower, were combined to reflect the beauty and value of this blossom. This name carries over the Chinese and Japanese translations, which literally mean gold flower or blossom as well. This one a little smaller, younger than the previous? A bit more 'frivoulous? From the same plant, it is fascinating to see the differences. like people in one family, LOL. Have a super day and thanx for your ever welcome comments and visit, M, (*_*) And for more of my other work or if you want to purchase, visit here: www.indigo2photography.com PLEASE RESPECT THIS: IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) A MESSAGE… THE EXHIBIT CHRYSANTHEMUM

I have a few people closely around me going through tough times all in different ways, which I am trying to help and support. So this IS the perfect flower to upload today! A Hagoromo Intermediate Incurve Chrysanthemum. The Chrysanthemum was first cultivated from wild blossoms by the Chinese, since importation in 1798. Some varieties sport daisy-style blooms with a single row of petals around a central core, while others are so ruffled and doubled they look like pom-poms instead and obscure the core, like this here. Meaningful Botanical Characteristics of the Chrysanthemum Flower The Chrysanthemum is far more versatile than many other decorative flowers. While they don’t provide a very strong smell when growing, there’s a delicate and sweet aroma released when certain types are used for food. Chinese cooks add the blooms to soups and stir fries that need a hint of floral to balance out more strongly flavoured or musky ingredients. The greens are also used for brightening up salads and fried dishes. You can try your hand at making your own sweetly scented Chrysanthemum tea if you have access to flowers that were never treated with pesticides. Speaking of pesticides, organic pyrethins are extracted from this plant to keep bugs away from people, pets, and plants. NASA studies even found potted Chrysanthemums improve air quality! The Chrysanthemum Flower’s Message Is… Support your friends with loyalty and love, especially when they’re facing an obstacle or recovering from a life-changing event. Remember to honour the cycle of life, both at its end and with new beginnings. As a bloom of great importance, the Chrysanthemum symbolises concepts like: Lasting friendship and non-romantic affection Support from your family and loved ones Cheerfulness and good spirits, including cheering up a sad person Rest and recovery after a long trial or challenge Enduring life and rebirth, especially the birth of a child Loyalty and devotion, both romantic and platonic Have a super day and thanx for your ever welcome comments and visit, M, (*_*) And for more of my other work or if you want to purchase, visit here: www.indigo2photography.co.uk PLEASE RESPECT THIS: IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) TWO of A KIND… CHRYSANTHEMUMS

Of the same plant, yet different, like in families! Each year I buy a few of those expensive beauties to photograph in the studio, same this year, they last forever. It is a labour of love for me to find 'different' lighting and angles to bring out their unique beauty, the petals so tightly concentrated in the heart and cascading out in full glory. Today, the chrysanthemum is a quintessential Japanese flower. Western-style spray chrysanthemums or yogiku are becoming popular as cut flowers and garden plants in Japan, but respect is still attached to traditional, disbudded types, the big blooms often duo toned, collectively known as kotengiku or antique chrysanthemums. *Name: comes from the Greek "krus anthemon” meaning gold (bronze) flower. Today they come in all colours. *History: The chrysanthemum has been known since before 5000BC in a small yellow form. *Origin: China and Japan. *Colours: all colours from white to deep purple, bronze, lime green and brick red ñ except blue (which are artificially dyed for special events) *Family: Relatives include Chamomile, Marguerite. *Varieties: they come in a range of shapes and sizes, including spiders, spoons, buttons and blooms. *Trivia and Facts: The Chrysanthemum is depicted on Japan's imperial weapons and flag. Japan also has a national festival devoted to the flower (9 Sept). *Mythology: Some countries (such as Malta) think it is unlucky to have the flower indoors. It is associated with funerals and All Saints Day. *Medicinal: Feng Shui adherents believe the chrysanthemum brings laughter and happiness to your home. Teas are made with the leaves to help relieve from flue. It is called A spider Chrysanthemum, are you not tempted into this lovely web? A spider chrysanthemum has very distinct flowers, which sets it apart from the rest. Spider chrysanthemums’ flowers have many rows of long, narrow, tube-like petals that are sometimes thought to resemble the legs of spiders. The inner petals are shorter and go up, curving themselves around a bulb-like and concealing it. The rest of the petals stick out and give this flower its very particular shape. THIS IS THE LATEST!!! WHY CHRYSANTHEMUMS…

Today, in many countries, All Saints' Day, the 1st of November, sees families gathering to visit cemeteries to clean and decorate tombs. And they decorate them mainly with chrysanthemums. The tradition of using chrysanthemums is a relatively recent one, dating from 1919 when the then President, Raymond Poincaré, declared that all war memorials should be decorated with floral tributes. As one of the rare flowers still in bloom in November it became the flower of choice for cemeteries, with hundreds of thousands of widows laying blooms at their fallen husbands' memorials. The chrysanthemum is now known as the widow's flower and is forever associated with Toussaint and death. With such connotations, chrysanthemums are not usually given at other occasions and should be avoided as a gift - many's the time an innocent foreigner has unwittingly caused offence (or at least surprise) by offering a hostess these colourful flowers! The chrysanthemum is the most sold flower in the world and each year around 25 million pots are placed on French graves on the 1st of November, jollying up cemeteries all over the country. Particularly when placed together in great bunches I think they look lovely and happily the chrysanthemum isn't associated with death all over the world. In fact, in direct contrast in Asia where it originates from, it is the flower of joy, elegance and eternity. Love the lightplay in these 3D white spider-Chrysanthemums. Like natural fireworks, always a great accent in the house. THE REAL DEAL... A SINGLE YELLOW CHRYSANTHEMUM

So, I continue my series of Chrysanthemums... it is their season... It looks like silk, it feels like silk, but it is a fresh, live flower! View On proper Black The Yellow Chrysanthemum is the official flower of Japan. As we all know, Japan commonly known as the land of the rising sun and the flower is used as a symbol of sun and the perfection of life. Added to that, this flower is also honoured in the popular “Festival of Happiness” celebrated once a year. It is believed that placing a petal from this large colourful flower next to the bottom of a wine glass will bring a long and healthy life. During the War of Dynasty in 1357, each Japanese warrior wore a yellow chrysanthemum as a pledge of courage. The Tale of Genji is a classic work of Japanese literature written by the Japanese noblewoman and lady-in-waiting Murasaki Shikibu in the early years of the 11th century; "Genji and his friends are lying around discussing the different types and aspects of women. One of them mentions the Chrysanthemum Festival, trying to write the appropriate poem, "...and here comes a lament from her, full of 'chysanthemum dew'..." "Ladies moistened a bit of chrysanthemum-patterned brocade with dew from chrysanthemum flowers, rubbed their cheeks with it to smooth the wrinkles of age (since chrysanthemum dew conferred immortal youth), and composed poems lamenting the sorrows of growing old.".................. OF GOLD in AUTUMN… Chrysanthemum

(please OPEN?) “Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence. Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance. Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence. Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.” ― Yoko Ono The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower) Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China. Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC. The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century. There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars. For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration. A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class. The Japanese hold this flower as the symbol of the sun. THE TEMPORAL BEAUTY...of THE CHRYSANTHEMUM.

the heart was already dying... a gorgeous, large, duo-toned bloom of Chrysanthemum. Tempus fugit is a Latin expression meaning "time flies". Frequently used as an inscription on clocks to remind us that life passes FAST, tick…tock.... All is fleeting and so ephemeral.. The expression was first used in the verse Georgica written by Roman poet Virgil: 'Sed fugit interea fugit irreparabile tempus' which means; "But it flees in the meantime: irretrievable time flees". The meaning is sometimes used less colloquially as: "Meanwhile, the irreplaceable time escapes", expressing concern that one's limited time is being consumed by something which may have little intrinsic substance or importance at that moment. The flower still full of beauty to me... I'm fine, hope you are too, thanx, M, (*_*) For more of my other work or if you want to PURCHASE (ONLY PLACE TO BUY!), VIEW THE NEW PORTFOLIOS AND LATEST NEWS : www.indigo2photography.co.uk IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) FLAMING BRIGHTER THAN EVER...

If you are being DISLIKED... it isn't me, I don't have a dislike button, I get there on the merit of the quality of my images ... not strategically! I continue my series of Chrysanthemums... it is their season... The same beauty, another angle, another light-setting, another camera, another lens... a bit closer still and this time again in full glory of colour. All flowers are beautiful, some through their shape some through their colour, some through both, but, like with people, I noticed over the years, that some flowers are more photogenic than others. It is a labour of love for me to find 'different' lighting and angles to bring out their unique beauty, the petals so tightly concentrated in the heart and cascading out in full glory. This 'special' Chrysanthemum had a head of about 15 cm, a joy to photograph, so ephemere, now eternalised... Giving my flowers SOUL? SWEET HARMONY... a tonal fest. Chrysanthemum.

'The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. ' - Auguste Rodin It is a labour of love for me to find 'different' lighting and angles to bring out their unique beauty, the petals so tightly concentrated in the heart and cascading out in full glory. And then, the smaller variety, in sprays, with curling petals! *Name: comes from the Greek "krus anthemonî meaning gold (bronze) flower. Tempus fugit is a Latin expression meaning "time flies". Frequently used as an inscription on clocks to remind us that life passes FAST, tic...toc.... THE ROGUE RED PETAL… Anthurium and Chrysanthemum

The flower world is interesting at this time of year, the ‘growers’ exceed themselves, with novelty Chrysanthemums and colours of Anthuriums I never saw before. And what happens then? A ‘genetic’ mishap? Nature still taking over? A rogue red petal on otherwise pale salmon coloured Mum! Supported by the waxy Anthuriums. Got them in a mixed bouquet, aahhh when the creative juices flow, I can't stop myself, I'd work day AND night, lol… and often, I DO!, have a bright day and thanx for your visit and comments, M, (*_*) For more of my other work or if you want to PURCHASE (ONLY PLACE TO BUY!), VIEW THE NEW PORTFOLIOS AND LATEST NEWS: www.indigo2photography.com Please do not use this image on websites, blogs or any other media without my explicit permission. © All rights reserved

FLOWER SELFIE... CHRYSANTHEMUMS

MY IMAGES ARE FOR SALE ONLY FROM ME, DIRECTLY, see below! Everybody is doing it, the selfies, HIHIHI, giggling? *Colours: all colours from white to deep purple, bronze, lime green and brick red – except blue (which are artificially dyed for special events) *Family: Relatives include Chamomile, Marguerite. CARNAVAL d'AUTOMNE...

... small CHRYSANTHEMUMS I wish you all a HAPPY AUTUMN. The season of the golden colours. I like it because the sun is a caress now and not a bite, like in Summer... I bought a mixed bouquet of flowers, five stems of different small chrysanthemums. There was only the one, like the one nobody wanted and yet so colourful together, well it looked a bit sad, but I saw the beauty in it. I immortalised each separately. These are the biggest, but still of the small variety. So, more challenges and light exercises from the studio, I stood on a ladder to take these. Yes... risking life and limb to bring you the best images, heeeeeeeeee Have a great day and thanx, M, (*_*) For more of my other work or if you want to PURCHASE (ONLY PLACE TO BUY!), VIEW THE NEW PORTFOLIOS AND LATEST NEWS : www.indigo2photography.com Please do not use this image on websites, blogs or any other media without my explicit permission. © All rights reserved

WILD THING... A STUNNER dedicated to Pink for OCTOBER...

Another day, another lighting... same flower, a different result! View On proper Black THIS IS THE LATEST SLIDE-SHOW!!!
