THREE FEATHER DUSTERS...

#abfav_3 I bought four, all in striking colours, they are very decorative (when I have no fresh flowers I put those in a vase! LOLOLOL). Can't get over the fact that they are each quite different, individuals, I wonder if it has to do with the paint? I love the deep rich tones and all the intricate detail, hope you do too. Have a colourful day and thank you for your comments, M, (*_*) For more of my other work or if you want to PURCHASE (ONLY PLACE TO BUY MY IMAGES!), VIEW THE NEW PORTFOLIOS AND LATEST NEWS HERE on our website: www.indigo2photography.com IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) WARM COLOURS…

PLEASE VIEW on BLACK. More of my coloured test-tubes and feathers. Warm colours are: red, orange and yellow. Colour theory classifies all shades of colours: warm colours convey joy, passion, sensuality, whilst cold colours are associated with sweetness and rest. Warm colours are exciting, they convey joy, strength, power, energy, passion. In the natural environment we can find the same analogies: blood is red, flames are orange and the sun is yellow and they are all warm. If we get into a yellow room, we will feel more cheerful and lively than if we enter a blue or green room, which conveys tranquillity. And there is another distinction: Red, orange and yellow (warm colours) have a positive radiation; Blue, violet and indigo (cold colours) have a negative radiation; Green is both negative and positive and many experts say that it is the link between the two categories. Have a fun day and thank you for your appreciation, M, (*_*) For more of my other work or if you want to purchase, visit here: www.indigo2photography.com IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) TO TICKLE YOUR FANCY?

LOL, I had these 6 glass, coloured ‘test’ tubes, and a big pack of feathers I separated the plumes, and had some fun in the studio with them. When finished, I saw the holder with the coloured glass, stored the feathers in them and was HIT by the visual: THE IMAGE! So it goes… By the way, I am not gay… these just happened to be the colours of the rainbow, which the gay community ‘appropriated’, making it sometimes more difficult for others to use these colours, without being labeled. Well not me, as you can tell by this creation from studio Indigo.. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet are the proper colours, so here Indigo missing, so I stepped in haha, completing it. COLD COLOURS…

PLEASE VIEW on BLACK Even more of my coloured test-tubes and feathers.Water and plants are blue and green and they are relaxing. Cold colours are: green, blue, indigo and violet. Cold colours are linked to quietness, sweetness, rest, contemplation, sadness and different shades of these frames of mind. When we walk into a yellow room, we will feel more cheerful and lively than if we enter a blue or green room, which conveys tranquillity. And there is another distinction: Red, orange and yellow (warm colours) have a positive radiation; Blue, violet and indigo (cold colours) have a negative radiation; Green is both negative and positive and many experts say that it is the link between the two categories. LES TROIS PLUMES…

a good alternative for flowers, if you want colour, shapes and textures, is feathers. I had a lot of fun with these, always trying to ‘perfect’ and bring the best. Here straight feathers in graduating Autumnal colours. I wish you all a very good day and thanks for all your kind words, time, comments and likes. Very much appreciated. FEATHERS in DETAIL…

Feathers insulate birds from water and cold temperatures. They may also be plucked to line the nest and provide insulation to the eggs and young. The individual feathers in the wings and tail play important roles in controlling flight.[17] Some species have a crest of feathers on their heads. Although feathers are light, a bird's plumage weighs two or three times more than its skeleton, since many bones are hollow and contain air sacs. Colour patterns serve as camouflage against predators for birds in their habitats. As with fish, the top and bottom colours may be different, in order to provide camouflage during flight. Striking differences in feather patterns and colours are part of the sexual dimorphism of many bird species and are particularly important in selection of mating pairs. A good alternative for flowers, if you want colour, shapes and textures, is feathers. I had a lot of fun with these, always trying to ‘perfection’ and bring the best. Here straight feathers in graduating Autumnal colours. I wish you all a very good day and thanks for all your kind words, time, comments and likes. Very much appreciated. LA PLUME DE MA TANTE...

Short for "la plume de ma tante est sur la table" (French for "My aunt's pen is on the table"), an expression used to mean stilted, textbook-derived speaking of a foreign language. The expression comes from the really odd sentences used in some textbooks to demonstrate grammar (rather than the sort of thing you are actually likely to say in the spoken daily language). There was also a song out of a famous revue and play: La plume de ma tante est sur le bureau de mon oncle... This is a fun anagram of that sentence: Rude Uncle Leo stole Aunt Mabel's pen; true Madame. (By Tony Crafter using Anagram Genius) (2003) Another image ALL ABOUT LIGHT and colour and texture, I'm trying for as much depth/relief as possible in photography. FEATHERLIGHT…

I declare February LOVE, romance and beauty month. Of plumes held captive by bright red ribbon. For Valentine, everything is wrapped with shiny red ribbon. Red, the colour of passion, red the colour most commonly associated with love, followed at a great distance by pink. It the symbolic colour of the heart and the red rose, is closely associated with romantic love or courtly love and Saint Valentine's Day. Lead and enjoy a good life, do and say things that enrich... and do not forget to tell the people close to you, how much you love them! The ART of LOVE, The LOVE of ART...

#abfav_white Some have butterflies, I have feathers? LOL Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. It can also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion, and affection—"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another". It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals. Ancient Greeks identified four forms of love: kinship or familiarity( storge), friendship (philia), sexual and/or romantic desire (eros), and self-emptying or divine love (agape). So, LOVE is MANY things... THE WINGS of AN ANGEL's FIRST CHRISTMAS...ANOTHER

AB FAV for today… https://www.facebook.com/groups/1148438991917313/ In our home, we have a cupboard. Nothing extraordinary there? Except, it is opened only once a year, it is where our Christmas decorations are kept. I still feel the same excitement I felt when I was a little girl, and I'd climb the stairs, behind my dad, up to the (huge) attic, yes... open 'the cupboard' holding all the cardboard boxes with the shiny glass baubles, the sparkling garlands.. It wasn't heavy, so I was allowed to help, and ooooh, when I opened the first box, I smelled the pine and wax from years past... Most of the treasures you remember and look forward to seeing again, many are a renewed surprise. Last Sunday, it was the moment, the day the tree was put up, the lights were working, the wreath hanging on the door, it was all going smoothly... Wind and sleety rain battering against the windows, nice and snug indoors, I was slowing down, growing a little tired... when I heard the most heavenly music, voices singing of a Silent Night, I opened the door, three little angels stood there, bedragled and cold. I rushed them quickly inside, rinsed off their wings and hung them up to dry. Made the angels a nice warm drink, in no time, they'd recovered and sang their songs of bells that jingle, chestnut roasting, some little drummer-boy,things in a pear tree? They helped me decorating in a festive and jolly mood, lighting the candles, arranging the Holly. One of them felt the feathers, they were dry, they fluffed them up a little, stroked some smooth, time to go... Two were quick to don their wings, I noticed that one was a bit slower, turned to me and whispered: "I've not been an angel for very long, this is my first Christmas, bbbrrrr..." The music echoed in the distance for a brief moment, aaaahhh, what a lovely dream, now I still had to finish what I had started! I carried on with renewed zest, smiling...when I suddenly saw, where the wings had been hanging... ANGEL’S BIG WINGS... ANOTHER STORY

AB FAV for today… https://www.facebook.com/groups/1148438991917313/ The wind was whistling around the house, dancing a rondo with dry fallen leaves. I sat in my chair, warm and cosy, yes, once again, the Christmas cheer and sparkle filling our home and hearts. I closed my eyes and listened to the pretty music, the bells, the harps, music box... Do you remember? Last year, three angels visited, I dried their wings and the little angels flew off happily with their soft wings, and all I had left with was three feathers? For on angel it was a first Christmas, hadn't been an angel for long... still an apprentice really. But, good material, great potential... otherwise, so I was told... you do not get any wings at all! Well, this time, I felt the gentlest caress on my cheek, hihi, it tickled, I brushed it away, but it was there again, it was the angel, I recognised it, how it had grown, smiled and said: "Yes, you remember me, you where so kind to us, we had fun, he? I wanted to come and tell you myself: I got my BIG wings!" "How wonderful! That pleases me greatly! Well done my angel! You must be thrilled? But, can I ask you, what did you do to earn them?" The angel blushed a little, I said " Oh, maybe you can't tell me?" "No, no, I can, only, it seems so minor, all I had to do was watch over you and your loved ones... and, I know that now and then I made a small mistake, like when you lost your camera-lens-hood in the dunes in Belgium, and, oohhh, do you remember, you almost tripped on the stairs in Holland when you visited your son and family, I was just able to grab you, aah and I..." I put out my hand and touched the silk sleeve: "Please, my dear, you deserve your Big wings! You kept us all safe, that IS the most important, I am so grateful to you! Come sit closer, and please can I take a portrait of you? The family are arriving on Christmas day, and I would love to tell them and show them?" The angel smiled again: "Of course!" I ran upstairs for my camera, came back, a quick make-shift studio, black-background up, the angel was very patient, yes, really 'had the patience of an angel', haha. I took the photo. The angel came closer and whispered: "I am sorry, I have to go now, with the new wings come more responsibilities. Just wanted you to see them!" I felt a gentle kiss on my forehead, again the tickle on my cheek from the wings, a gentle rustle of feathers… Silence. I was alone again. I picked up my camera, so curious to see... And THIS is what I had captured... THE BIG WINGS... LA PLUME DE MA TANTE...

#abfav_monochrome Short for "la plume de ma tante est sur la table" (French for "My aunt's pen is on the table"), an expression used to mean stilted, textbook-derived speaking of a foreign language. The expression comes from the really odd sentences used in some textbooks to demonstrate grammar (rather than the sort of thing you are actually likely to say in the spoken daily language). There was also a song out of a famous revue and play (which I grew up with): La plume de ma tante est sur le bureau de mon oncle... This is a fun anagram of that sentence: Rude Uncle Leo stole Aunt Mabel's pen; true Madame. (By Tony Crafter using Anagram Genius) (2003) Here I use PLUME which means feather as well in French! Another image ALL ABOUT LIGHT, shape and texture, I'm trying for as much depth/relief as possible in photography. Have a great day and thank you for your comments, M, (*_*)

TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS…

For god-sake, we ALL get weary? Oh she may be weary Them young girls they do get wearied Wearing that same old shaggy dress, yeah yeah But when she gets weary Try a little tenderness, yeah yeah From the song written by Jimmy Campbell, Reg Connelly and Harry M. Woods in 1932 and performed by many of the greats! Feathers symbolise for me, tenderness, softness and warmth, all the things we need in real life and especially now, when the world, once again, feels like a harsh place. We will have to be strong, however I am convinced that the good will survive… with a lot of tenderness and care for our fellow man. WHERE ANGELS REST…

In our home, we have a cupboard under the eaves. Nothing extraordinary there? Except, it is opened only once a year, it is where our Christmas decorations are stored. I still feel the same excitement I felt when I was a little girl, and I'd climb the stairs, behind my dad, up to the (huge) attic, yes... open 'the cupboard' holding all the cardboard boxes with the shiny glass baubles, the sparkling garlands.. They weren't heavy, so I was allowed to help, and ooooh, when I opened the first box, I smelled the pine and wax from years past... Most of the treasures you remember and look forward to seeing again, many are a renewed surprise.Once again, with a sigh, because another year had flown bye so fast, the ‘ special cupboard’ was opened and all the memories of years gone by were released. Joining the latest ones. Because, each year something new is bought! The days are so short now, it is dark by 15.30, but that means that the sparkling new lights look even better. A box was standing a little precariously, probably the last one in, with those things always left behind when all else is safely put away? But no, It fell open, there were my white feathers, the wings and the angels! Aha, so this is where angels rest? LOL I stopped my activities, to photograph: THE priority!!! Wishing you a very good day and thanx for visiting Magda, (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.com IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) A CHRISTMAS STORY...

For December I'll upload images to do with the festive season. This is many different things, as you can see.. 't was after midnight, we'd again worked late, the lights in our Christmas tree were on, some candles spread their wonderful light and made everything flickering sparkly. We relaxed in front of the fire, to unwind and enjoy, before going to bed. The previous night a dusting of snow had whitened our world, the day was bitterly cold with a biting frost. I heard a tinkling bell in the silence of the night, a slight knock on the door... I opened and there was Father Christmas, he was on one of his pre-Christmas rounds, to see how 'good' everybody was, what they deserved, or not... (he doesn't always get it right, but maybe that's his helpers?) and he had been caught in a blizzard! Saw our lovely inviting home... I quickly invited him in, he took of his hat, the gentleman that he is... I saw how wet and icy it was and offered to hang it up to dry. I fixed him a hot drink, we sat and chatted, he asked how my photography was going, (he really does know EVERYTHING!), was I happy with my new camera? And why had I not waited... he would have put one under the tree for me... I blushed and confessed that I'm not the most 'patient' of people. He smiled and stroked his beard. Well, warmed up and dry, he was ready to go, lots to do, deadlines to meet, gosh it all sounded so familiar... A hug, I waved him out, another bell-jingling, ho-ho-ho...then he was gone... that's when I woke up! may the light shine bright for you today and thank you for visiting, Magda (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.co.uk IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) THE WINGS of ANGELS...ANOTHER CHRISTMAS STORY...

For December I'll upload images to do with the festive season. This is going to be many different things, as you can see... A STORY IN THREE IMAGES, this is the first in the series In our home, we have a cupboard. Last Sunday, it was the moment, the tree was put up, the lights were working, the wreath hanging on the door, it was all going smoothly... Made the angels a nice warm drink, in no time, they'd recovered and sang their songs of bells that jingle, chestnut roasting, some drummer-boy,things in a pear tree? They helped me decorating in a festive and jolly mood, lighting the candles, arranging the Holly. One of them felt the feathers, they were dry, they fluffed them up a little, stroked some smooth, time to go... Two were quick to don their wings, I noticed that one was a bit slower, turned to me and whispered, I've not been an angel for very long, this is my first Christmas, bbbrrrr... The music echoed in the distance for a brief moment, aaaahhh, what a lovely dream, now I still had to finish what I had started! I carried on with renewed zest...when I suddenly saw, where the wings had been drying... three lost feathers... I wish you a day full of peace and goodness, thanx, M, (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.co.uk IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) VISUAL SILENCE...

I had been 'playing' with this concept for a while in my head. I called it (instead of the Silence of the Lambs) the Silence of the Bird. When I had the final result, it came to me immediately: VISUAL SILENCE. I don't often 'dive' into the digital 'magical' darkroom that photoshop can be, but for certain projects it is a great creative tool! Here, in the case of visual silence, what is being absorbed is not sound but gaze. If silence is the absence of noise, then this visual silence is defined as the gradual absence, the vanishing, of what surrounds it, where we burrow from the visible surface to the invisible core. Our focus on the image involves a diminution of the optic field: in this sense, visual silence is like a poem, its power arising from its sheer vulnerability. The image cannot be penetrated even by the most powerful of gazes because it is already open, in full view... and yet the transparency of the image, one that does not attempt to hide anything, is still capable of mystery. Visual silence arrests us because it is the interface between two realms of partial knowledge: between he who does not know he is being watched and those who do not know what they are watching. Some images leave us speechless, we watch them in silent awe. Ultimately the camera is merely an extension of the human eye, it only sees and cannot wholly know what it is seeing.
