A ONE, A TWO, A THREE, A FOUR… Gerbera

A one, A two, A one, two, three, four lol More of the stunning vibrant Gerbera, still going strong! For those who didn’t read it yet: There was only one packet… lost, in a bucket round the back, a small bouquet of Gerber: reduced to clear… Oh what stunning colour, brought them home, took care of them, they straightened and are now standing gloriously next to me. So photogenic. Here number two, a duo… Gerbera is a genus of plants Asteraceae (daisy family). It was named in honour of German botanist and medical doctor Traugott Gerber. Gerbera is native to tropical regions of South America, Africa and Asia. The first scientific description of a Gerbera was made by J.D. Hooker in Curtis's Botanical Magazine in 1889 when he described Gerbera jamesonii, a South African species also known as Transvaal daisy or Barberton Daisy. Gerbera is also commonly known as the African Daisy. Thousands of cultivars exist. They vary greatly in shape and size. Colours include white, yellow, orange, red, and pink. The centre of the flower is sometimes black. Often the same flower can have petals of several different colours. It is the fifth most used cut flower in the world (after rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip). Have a wonderful day, and thank you for your time and comments, M, (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: /www.indigo2photography.com IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!) The Appassionata was considered by Beethoven to be his most tempestuous piano sonata and was being described as a "brilliantly executed display of emotion and music". 1803 was the year Beethoven came to grips with his complete deafness, and the Appassionata clearly reflects the emotional turmoil he felt during its composition. Xtreme Eyelashes... of the Gerbera

"One day You will take my heart completely and make it more fiery than a dragon. Your eyelashes will write on my heart the poem that could never come from the pen of a poet." Jalal Ad-Din Rumi A wink from a happy rescued gerbera.... ... I saw this lovely duo-toned Gerbera, broken off, lying on the floor, hey, DANGEROUS! It must have fallen out of a more expensive bouquet that someone bought... so, I picked it up and brought it home, trimmed the flattened stem and quickly put it in a small supporting vase (the stems are so tender), it straightened and I am still enjoying it, hope you do too! Three vibrant Gerbera, in different stages of openness. For Sunny Sunday. Gerbera is a genus of ornamental plants from the sunflower family. It was named in honour of the German naturalist Traugott Gerber. It has approximately 30 species in the wild, extending to South America, Africa and tropical Asia. Colours include white, yellow, orange, red, and pink. The center of the flower is sometimes black. It is the fifth most used cut flower in the world (after rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip). I declare February LOVE, romance and beauty month. To the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again. -- quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson Gerbera is a genus of ornamental plants from the sunflower family. RAINBOWFLOWER

All the 'Roygbiv'(red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) mnemonics follow the tradition of including the colour indigo between blue and violet. A Gerbera, I obviously coloured in each petal in the proper rainbow order... Thanx, M, (*_*)

LE TEMPS des GERBERAS…

DAY 8 There is an unbelievable choice in everything, it all seems too much? Such abundance. I remember when sellers came to market with their wares, towards the end, if you were late… there was little left, certainly no choice anymore. Now everything seems overstocked and never-ending FULL. More from the market in Brugge. I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.com Please do not use this image on websites, blogs or any other media without my explicit permission. © All rights reserved
