FLOWERBASKET with HYDRANGEA...

This is the same basket as the previous, same flowers... lit with a cooler light. I love experimenting, that's what brought me where I am today, ooh and did I mention hard work? LOL Now people DAILY ask me for tutorials, workshops (which we used to do but do not have the time now), a gent from Egypt wants to "travel and pay for an apprentice-ship"... I am an intuitive creative, have no secrets, just my passion and unquenchable thurst for perfection, I cannot explain how I do it, it happens... I'll see something very mundain in a shop, or a certain flower and I just see the final image with my minds eye, then, I will not rest untill I have got it? The studio, that you ask to see, it is only different backgrounds, black velvet, tripods, softboxes and lights (of all kinds), reflectors, computors, cameras and lenses! Ordinarily, flowerbaskets are round and for hanging up... Gathered the Hydrangea heads in one basket, I decided to photograph the whole scene instead of an 'isolated' few (which I could not resist doing anyway, phaaahhh). They are nicely drying and getting the 'Autumn' colours... for the rest of the year. I love them! Giving my flowers SOUL? My Soul Flowers on youtube and Studio Flowers 2011 THIS IS THE LATEST!!! LA DENTELLIERE... HYDRANGEA

THE LACE-MAKER Dentelle in French=Lace. This bloom of Hydrangea turned into lace... skeletal... beautiful and delicate. I gently brought it in. The flower spoke to me of essence, the spine; I thought of an Autumn bride, all things romantic. THE CHANGING of THE COLOURS… HYDRANGEA

Three from our garden. Colour transition in flowers. Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water. A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years. In most species the flowers are white, but in some species (notably H. macrophylla), they are blue, red, pink, light purple, or dark purple. In these species the colour is affected by the presence of aluminium ions which are available or tied up depending upon the soil’s pH content. For H. macrophylla and H. serrata cultivars, the flower colour can be determined by the relative acidity of the soil: an acidic soil (pH below 7), will have available aluminium ions and typically produce flowers that are blue to purple, whereas an alkaline soil (pH above 7) will tie up aluminium ions and result in pink or red flowers. I wish you all the very best and thanx for all your kind words, time, comments, likes and faves. Very much appreciated. THE END IS NEAR...

One from last year... "When I prepared the garden for its 'hibernation', I collected the last of the flowers/colours. These were Hydrangea (Hortensias), now inside, they will be dried and look very nice in a bowl. The small pink flowers formed a corolla/crown around the center of the head.(More to come) Of course they had already suffered all kinds of attacks, not just by the weather but by the remaining insects, snails and slugs, nobody wants or likes them, but nature would not survive without them! So, now I look forward to the season of lights, after the festivities, I'll start looking for the new growth breaking the soil again." Giving my flowers SOUL? LA DIVA HYDRANGEA...

D-delightful I-invasive V-vivacious A-attitude... is NORMALLY a girl or woman with an exaggerated sense of self-importance HERE a flower requiring a great deal of attention and excessive effort to maintain beauty, style and image. A diva is not necessarily difficult to work with, she is just very professional and and has a low tolerance for incompetence... Yes I was listening again to what this flower had to say, quite obvious he? Between you and me, sshhhht, a bit of a Drama queen really! LOL! View On proper Black Playing with lights and reflectors again... I seem to rescue a lot of flowers lately... due to the awful weather! PINK DELICACY… HYDRANGEA

When I come back from the Continent, I always visit a flower market, to bring back some beauties. In England, I am sorry to say, the markets (that I go to) could take a lesson! Their flowers here are often too far gone, not a great choice, nothing very exciting? Anyway, bought these, two massive Hydrangea heads. They suffered in transport, so, I filled the bath with cold water and submerged them for 8 hours. they absorb water through their petals and leaves, and hey-ho, they fully recovered! HORTENSIA ALBA...

Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water. A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years. As I am working a lot in the studio at moments, images photographed the way I like it, minimal dof, it gives it a lovely sense of mystery, well, I think so... Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language. Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms. Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people. So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too. HYDRANGEA says: Thank You for Understanding. RHAPSODY IN BLUE... HYDRANGEA...

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attacked ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost in time, like tears...in rain. Time to die." From Blade Runner. This is a 'Mophead', flowers are large round flower-heads resembling pom-poms or, as the name implies, the head of a mop.HYDRANGEA flowers are produced from early spring to late autumn; they grow in flower-heads (corymbs or panicles) at the ends of the stems. In many species, the flower-heads contain two types of flowers, small fertile flowers in the middle of the flowerhead, and large, sterile bract-like flowers in a ring around the edge of each flowerhead. Other species have all the flowers sterile and of the same size, like this one. AUTUMN'S SPLENDOUR IS HERE!

The warm sun of Summer is still stroking us occasionally, Autumn sneaked upon us, but it is here, the calendar tells me, I look up, I look down, the leaves are turning, the leaves are falling, less and less flowers, drying up, discolouring...from green to yellow, from green to orange, from yellow to orange, from orange to red… they all end up brown and dead. These Hydrangea, if cut at the right time will give you a Winter-long pleasure of colour! View On proper Black Giving my flowers SOUL? MYSTERIOUS... HYDRANGEA

The Hydrangeas did very well this year. Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room. Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words 'hydro' or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water. A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years. As I am working a lot in the studio at the moment, and photographed them the way I like it, minimal dof, it gives it a lovely sense of mystery, well, I think so... This late bloom of Hydrangea gave me all the wonderful colours of Autumn, the flower spoke to me of fading light... I obliged! Some 'mysterious' lighting, et voila. HYDRANGEA - Thank You for Understanding. DEEP IN MY HEART... I AM BLUE...

For December I'm uploading images to do with the festive season. This is many different things...as you can see... Of HEARTS AND STARS. Named for the dark blue, HEART shaped HYDRANGEA... Christmas can be a nostalgic time for many, not everyone will be able to celebrate with their family! Some are very lonely, let's spare a thought for them? Paul and I are fortunate to have each other, our families are spread all over. Of course I'll miss them, but there will be contact of course! Paul and I are having our usual Christmas Eve at home, just the two of us, dressed up to the nines, I'll have prepared something a bit more 'special'... Mood, food, some good wine, music, candles and lights, love and friendship for each other... HAPPINESS!The BEST present! We'll stay up late, have a lie-in in the morning, a long breakfast, then, probably some photography, depending on the weather, if it rains, we stay in. In the evening it is a cold buffet (prepared the afternoon before, I DO NOT cook on Christmas day), later we'll probably watch some TV or read and listen to music, go to bed, content... thanx for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*) For more of my other work visit here: www.indigo2photography.co.uk IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (BY LAW!!!)
